My trip to the Asian Market Place… May 11, 2008
As Nathan and I were walking home from a Mexican restaurant, we decided to go into the Asian market place. We had never been in this store before, and I had a craving for Botan rice candy. Well, one of the smells that makes me gag no matter what, is the smell of any kind of sea food, or fish. That was the first thing I smelled when I went inside. Well, my nose adjusted to the smell, after 10 minutes. I got some Botan rice candy, some fancy chopsticks, some green tea, some red bean buns, and some duck flavored ramen noodles (Nathan is a carnivore). I also discovered food that I have not seen before. Some of it sounded delicious (green tea cookies, and guava tea). Then there was some stuff that I couldn’t fathom eating. An example would be the bag of dried mini crabs covered in sesame seeds. I took some pictures of the little adventure.
This was the aisle dedicated to ramen noodles.
There were flavors I never knew existed.
These are the canned quail eggs. I just can’t fathom
canned eggs. I should investigate this more, and see
what they are normally served with.
Ok, bamboo caterpillar…
Has anyone had this, if so what is your opinion?
I am in gag mode right now.
This picture is blurry. It is the bag of dried crabs.
I still don’t know if you boil these in water and serve with noodles,
or if you eat them like crackers.
This final picture is of Nathan. He found some play money. So he
decided to act like he was in a hip hop video. His face is priceless.
I should have photo shopped some gold grills.
